Santa would like to ask bloggers to help him spread the news about ChristmasMaps.com . Of course, he wants to
reward helpful bloggers and make it interesting too, so he decided
that we should have a contest or two.
ChristmasMaps.com Loves Bloggers Contest
The first is "ChristmasMaps.com loves Bloggers" which runs until December 15th. Contest winner to be chosen on December 16th using http://www.random.org Here are the rules:
To get one entry to the contest, leave a comment on Santa's Blog after
visiting ChristmasMaps.com. You can talk about the games, the ecards,
whatever you want to say about the site.
For two entries into the drawing, leave a comment, like already
mentioned. Then, write a post on your blog about the contest and
include a link to ChristmasMaps.com . Make sure you encourage your
readers to visit us here and enter the contest too.
To get five entries in the contest drawing, do both of the above,
leave a comment, write a blog post, and also include one of our badges in your sidebar for the month.
To get ten entries, just do everything above and also add a Salvation
Army banner to your blog through the month of December. Go to the Salvation Army website and join our team, or go to the Salvation Army site, create
your own kettle and add it to your blog. All the money goes straight
to the Salvation Army, a terrific charity that helps needy families
365 days a year.
Another way to get entries is to submit listings of Christmas or
holiday events. Every listing you submit gets you another entry! You
can submit any light display or holiday event in the US, whether its
in your town or across the country. Click on Submit Listing in the
Main Menu box in the upper left of the page. Then you can choose to
either Submit Lights or Submit Play. We don't need your name or
address on your submissions. Submissions/entries will be counted by email addresses, so please double check and make sure yours is correct.
Each display or event that you submit must have the street
address, city, state and zip of the display. The name of the display
is optional, but is helpful, along with the display size and features.
Of course, we know that many lighting displays don't have web sites,
so we just need a link to verify where you found the information, such
as a news story or a blog post.
Here's some suggestions on how to find listings: Do an online search
for a state's department of tourism. Let's say you want to do Alaska.
Do a search for "Alaska Department of Tourism" and then look on their
site for visitor and/or tourist information. Another way to find light
displays is to search by city name. For example, searching for
"Atlanta holiday lights" turns up a lot of results.
The best part is, the more contestants in the contest, the more
goodies that Santa will add to the bag. We want to give away lots of
prizes, so we need lots of entries to make that happen. Some of the

The blogger who can convince the most number of people to visit our site wins a gift card from an online retailer. The value of the card will be in direct proportion to the overall number of visitors to our site. Each visitor will count as one cent towards the value of the gift card, and the overall prize will not exceed one hundred dollars. This will be judged using the Google Analytics tool. They have to come from your blog link to be counted. All you have to do is write about using ChristmasMaps.com to find light displays and ask your readers to check it out.
Contest begins December 3rd, 2007 at 1:03 a.m. PST and ends December 23rd at 11:58 p.m. PST.
